Legal Staffer Duty of the Day: Ordering the Bundt Cake

I like to make sure that I portray the legal support staff profession accurately here at Practical Paralegalism. Sometimes you have to do stuff that doesn’t strictly fall under traditional clerical, administrative, or paralegal duties.

Like bake cakes for office parties.

Suzanne Caesar, a legal secretary who works for Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in Dalles, Texas, used to bake bundt cakes for her colleagues’ birthdays. But now she can simply pick up the phone and order a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Caesar told The Dallas Observer blog, “I used to make a lot of cakes, but I will never make another cake again.”

Who can blame her? These cakes look awesome, and the flavors include chocolate chocolate chip (that is not a typo), white white chocolate (still not a typo), and cinnamon swirl. (Do not go to the Nothing Bundt Cakes site if you haven’t eaten yet.)

I think the Nothing Bundt Drama cake would be perfect for that talented legal assistant or legal secretary’s birthday. The description says, “She’s earned this cake (if not an Oscar).” Darn skippy she did.

Ya’ll, if you don't live in Dallas, they mail these, too.
