I love it when you comment, I really do. I value your readership and your opinions. Part of this blog’s purpose is to build a sense of community among paralegals nationwide, so it’s even nicer when the comments turn into a conversation, or a valuable addition to the blog entry. I share my knowledge, because I want to you to share yours. Commenting on legal blogs is a great way to contribute, educate, network, and yes, support our fellows in “th’ Paralegalhood”.
Unfortunately, I had to start moderating comments a month or so ago. I absolutely have no problem with someone having a difference of opinion and take the position, “let’s agree to disagree” – as long as the exchange is civil. But I’m not going to approve comments which are unprofessional or do not reflect well on the commenter, usually “Anonymous”. Maybe I’m old school, but I was always taught that if you have something to say, own it. And if you don't want to sign your real name, Google name or provide any other identifying information, and you want to post negative personal comments about others, leave an e-mail address where you can be contacted if you really want me to respond. That’s what a professional would do.

Lynne: I love your blog. I check in daily. I am a shy paralegal. Rarely out in the public eye. Having 21 (yes, that is not a typo) years in trial litigation experience, primarily product liability and consumer rights arena, your blog is so refreshing, honest and filled with your love of life. Thank you.

Lynne,
I agree. If you have something to say, own it. If one can not be civil then do not post anything. Some people seem to want to ruin other peoples day by posting negative comments.
I enjoy reading your blog. I would like to start a blog, but am unsure how or what to say in one. This is a good way to network and learn new things as you said. I am in a learning phase being laid off and taking Paralegal classes to enter "th' Paralegalhood".
Keep up the good work!
Darin
Keila -- Thanks so much for the positive feedback. Believe it or not, I am a shy paralegal, too! My mom used to yell at me about my excruciating shyness as a kid. I've noticed your recent posts to the LAT-Forum, and I'd have to say, if you are shy, you're definitely blooming. With 21 years of trial litigation expertise, you are a valued asset to the paralegal community, and I hope to see lots more of you.
Peace & grace,
Lynne
P.S. If you're on LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter, I'd welcome a friend or contact request from you.
Darin - For a great example of a student blog, check out Paralegal Student in the Golden State. Jen uses many of her class assignments and subsequent research as topics for her blog. You could even do a "Diary of a Paralegal Student" type blog. (But always keep it professional and never post negative personal comments about students, instructors, etc.) If you're uncertain about blogging, you may want to try a stint or two as a "guest blogger" :) Let me know if you have a topic in mind. I do plan a series of guest blogs from paralegal students, because I've met some super ones through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, listservs, news stories and this blog!
Lynne. I added you on Facebook. I have pictures of kids on there. This new job has forced me to come out of my shell. Thanks for being so supportive and welcoming.
Keila
Keila -- You've been hiding your glow. I'm so glad that you shed the shell, and am looking forward to getting to know you better via Facebook.
