Paralegal Files Court Action to Locate Mentally Ill Son

California paralegal Enne Currie is scheduled to appear at a mental health court hearing on January 29, 2009 in Redlands. She has filed legal action, pro se, to ascertain the location of her mentally ill adult son, Dirul Lewis, who has been in the mental health system for many years. She alleges that he has been moved to an undisclosed location, following the recent abrupt ending of her conservatorship.

Ms. Currie describes her son:

"My son wrote poetry, did recitations and impersonations, artwork and sketches. He loved reading the Bible. I drew strength from his courage and resilience in the face of all of this. He cared about people. He wanted to make something of himself. My son could read at two years old and now he mumbles."
