Legal Assistant to Attend Presidential Inauguration

North Carolina legal assistant Jenna Gudac is part of a group of outstanding Mt. Olive College students chosen to attend Campaign 2008: The Presidential Inauguration Seminars in Washington, D.C. from January 10 through January 21, 2009. She is employed by Lucas, Denning and Ellerbe in Selma and is majoring in Human Resources Management.

We had to give a power point presentation prior to the election on why we should go,” said Gudac. “Either way the election went it was going to change history. Either we’d have the first African-American president or the first female vice-president. That’s one of the reasons the number of voter turnout was so large. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, to go and discuss and learn about the political system. Most of our viewpoint comes from the media where a lot of time you only hear one side and I’d like to learn more.

See The Selma News.
