Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Hart promised U.S. District Court Judge U.W. Clemon that he will utilize his legal assistant to keep his calendar and keep him informed of upcoming court appearances. Mr. Hart appeared in front of Judge Clemon today in Birmingham, Alabama to explain why he should not be held in contempt and sanctioned for missing a sentencing hearing last summer.
Mr. Hart admitted that he had “lost control” of his calendar and that he had learned from his mistakes. "I've delegated more," he said. "I apologize to the court."
