Canadian Posing as a Paralegal Arrested for Fraud

Toronto police arrested Andrew Smith, who allegedly defrauded his victims by pretending to offer legal services as a paralegal. The Law Society of Upper Canada does not recognize Mr. Smith as a paralegal. The charges include three counts of “mischief.” The fake paralegal used Craigslist.org to advertise his “assistance,” which included taking his clients' money and original documents. See The Toronto Sun.
